Cape Cod Engagement Photography

Falmouth • Chatham • Eastham • New England and beyond

Our approach blends candid photojournalism with clean, timeless portraiture, creating images that feel natural and true to who you are.

Working in both digital and film, we capture the full atmosphere of the Cape: the glow of Chatham at sunset, the wide tidal flats of Brewster, the calm harbors of Falmouth, and the dunes that stretch through Harwich and Mashpee.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

• How long are your engagement sessions?

The average timeframe is 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes.

• Can I book our couples session durning the weekend?

Sometimes I have availability on Sundays. Reach out to me to check the options/schedule it.

• We want to book you! What are the next steps?

To reserve your session, a $500 deposit and a signed contract are required.

• How many places we can visit during the session?

For most sessions it's 1-2 places nearby in a walking distance. We can discuss longer session options as well.

• How do we choose between the "Bayside" and the "Atlantic Side" for our session?

The Bayside (Dennis, Brewster, Eastham) is famous for the "Flats"—at low tide, the water retreats for miles, creating a giant mirror for sunset reflections. It’s calm, shallow, and ethereal. The Atlantic Side (Wellfleet, Truro) offers "Wild Cape" energy—towering 60-foot dunes, crashing waves, and a dramatic, windswept look.

• What are the best colors for the Cape?

Soft blues, sage greens, and sandy beiges harmonize with the dunes and cedar shingles. Avoid neon colors or heavy patterns; they distract from the landscape and can cause unflattering skin tones in bright beach light. I always lean more elegant or editorial outfit and colors.

• When is the best time to avoid crowds?

September is the "Golden Month." The water is warmest, the light is soft, and tourist traffic drops by 40% after Labor Day. For summer sessions, we shoot at sunrise or 90 minutes before sunset to ensure private, photobomber-free backgrounds.

• What happens if the weather is bad?

We offer a one-time weather reschedule for rain or extreme wind. However, don't fear clouds! Overcast "Cape Cod Grey" skies acting as a natural softbox, creating incredibly flattering light and rich, saturated colors that "pop" against the ocean.

• The 2026 - 2027 Engagement Aesthetic

Many couple are choosing Hybrid digital and Film Coverage. I always strive to offer it.

• What is the best time for engagement photos on Cape Cod?

The best time to start your session is around 1.5 - 1 hour before the sunset. Golden Hour time is the best to capture it.

Top 3 Cape Cod Engagement Vibes

The Classic Coastal: Chatham Lighthouse Beach. Best for iconic dunes and that "Old Cape" feel. (Best at Sunrise to avoid crowds).

The Low-Tide Reflection: Brewster Flats. Unique to the Bayside. I time these sessions exactly with the tide chart to capture the mirror-like reflections on the sand.

The Nautical Harbor: Falmouth or Hyannis Port. Perfect for couples who want docks, sailboats, and a more "Preppy Coastal" aesthetic.

A Hybrid Approach: Digital Precision + Film Soul - sometimes I use a blend of high-end digital sensors and 35mm film. Why? Because the Atlantic light on Cape Cod has a specific luminosity that film captures with a nostalgic, creamy texture that digital filters can't replicate. It’s about creating a gallery that feels like a family heirloom from day one.
