Hi everyone, welcome to my blog! I’m Boston Wedding Photographer Alex Gordias. Today, I’m excited to share a charming Charles River engagement session with you.
As the wedding season began to wind down, we set aside a perfect day for an engagement session in Newton. We were blessed with a wonderfully warm and sunny week, providing the ideal light for our shoot. We started in a serene riverside park, capturing the natural beauty and tranquility of the area, before moving to the vibrant streets of Newton’s downtown for a more urban feel.
As a wedding and engagement photographer, I absolutely adore my job. I’m already looking forward to this amazing couple’s wedding in Falmouth, Cape Cod. I am especially excited about including their cats in the upcoming festivities (being a big cat lover myself!) and capturing more of their fantastic personal style. Sasha and Lyusha were thrilled with their final gallery, which features a beautiful mix of scenic views and intimate portraits brimming with romantic vibes.

The Story of Sasha & Lyusha
How they met:
They met on a dance floor in Newton, MA, back in 2003 when they were just 15-year-old competitive Latin ballroom dancers. Sasha was the better dancer! By 2006, both had moved away from the area; Sasha headed to UMass Amherst to study neuroscience, while Lyusha moved to Washington, DC, to pursue the study of Arabic. Over the next seven years, their paths diverged across research labs and international borders, including Lyusha’s time in Egypt and Cyprus.
In 2013, Sasha spontaneously answered a roommate ad and moved in with Lyusha’s childhood friend. When Lyusha visited from New Hampshire, she was surprised to find Sasha among her closest group of friends, noting he’d done an excellent job growing up. When she finally moved back to Boston in 2017, Sasha was there. What ensued was a high school-style crush that eventually turned into a beautiful partnership once Sasha finally got the hint!
