Popponesset Inn Wedding – Grace & Nate
Grace and Nate’s story began in Boston — two people living just across the Charles River, meeting by chance on a dating app, not yet knowing their paths would lead back to Cape Cod. After graduation, Nate moved west to San Francisco. A year later, Grace followed, and together they built a life filled with new beginnings and familiar ocean light. When they began planning their Popponesset Inn wedding, one thing was certain — it had to be on Cape Cod, the place they’d both called home each summer. The day felt like a return: a blend of family tradition, sea air, and effortless joy.
A Personal Connection
This celebration held an extra layer of meaning for me. I’ve worked with Clare’s family for years, capturing weddings for two of her sisters, and seeing familiar faces again reminded me why I love what I do. Though this date was initially booked on my schedule, my associate team captured their wedding day for me.
Cape Cod has a way of linking people through place — the same beaches, the same sunsets, the same breeze that’s carried through generations of celebrations.

A Chapel in Woods Hole
The ceremony took place at St. Joseph’s Chapel in Woods Hole, a historic coastal parish at 33 Millfield Street. The chapel’s white clapboards and quiet harbor setting felt timeless, the perfect beginning before crossing the bay to Mashpee.
After the vows, we stepped outside into salt wind and sunlight. Family lined the walkway; bells echoed faintly from the harbor. It’s the kind of Cape moment that lasts — small, sincere, and filled with texture.

Reception at the Popponesset Inn
From Woods Hole, the party moved to the Popponesset Inn — one of Cape Cod’s most beloved seaside venues, set on the edge of New Seabury overlooking Nantucket Sound. Built in the 1940s as part of the historic New Seabury Resort, the Inn has hosted generations of coastal weddings and remains a cornerstone of Mashpee’s shoreline charm.
Grace and Nate’s reception carried that easy Cape rhythm — open doors to the sea, linen tables, and a warm July breeze drifting through the tent. The evening light turned gold, the band played, and every sound from the dance floor mixed with the waves just beyond. Photographing their Popponesset Inn wedding felt effortless; the venue itself tells half the story.

Why Couples Love the Popponesset Inn
Few places balance Cape Cod’s casual spirit with oceanfront elegance like the Popponesset Inn. Its long wraparound deck opens straight to the sand, and as dusk settles, the lights from boats offshore become part of the scene. For couples who grew up visiting the Cape, it feels like home — familiar but transformed.
